About our C.S.A.
There are over 1,000 Community Supported Agriculture farms throughout
the United States, with new ones being started every season. This
movement represents a new perspective on the relationship that exists
between farmer and consumer in response to growing concerns about
food and environmental safety. Those involved care deeply
about the future of our planet and recognize the importance of the
family farm in this larger picture.
Members enter into a mutually beneficial partnership with local
famers by purchasing a portion of the farm's harvest. Shares
are purchased in the spring when expenses are highest for the farm.
In return, members receive a weekly supply of organic produce as
it becomes available throughout the season.
This partnership extends beyond an exchange of dollars for produce;
it represents a committment on both sides to an ecologically and
economically sustainable food system. A C.S.A. farm provides
its members with healthy and nutritious food and its growers with
fair compensation for future generations.
